ADMISSIONS FOR AGUA HOME SWIM MEETS

First, thank you very much for agreeing to run the admissions table for

an AGUA home meet.  Home meets are a great opportunity for the

development of our swimmers and a way to raise money through admission

and program fees for the team.

To Do Before The Day of the Meet

1. Check the AGUA website www.aguaswim.com under the information for the

home meet.  Jot down the prices listed for admission and programs and

bring the prices to the meet.

2. Coordinate with your admissions partner on who will do what.  We try

to get 2 people to do admissions.  Assigned parents are listed on the

website under Parents’ Assignments and parents’ phone numbers and emails

are listed in the AGUA Swim Team Directory.

An AGUA parent who times or works on admissions or awards is not

required to pay an admissions fee.

To Do On the Day of the Meet

1. Arrive at least 45 minutes before warm-up so that you can be ready to

work.

2. Bring with you,  a pen, several pieces of 8 ˝” x 11” paper, scotch

tape, and the prices for admissions and programs.

3. Set up the cash box and admissions table by going to the Aquatics

Office on the pool deck and ask for the cash box from Paul Taylor or

Siobhan.  Take the cash box to the second floor.  Make sure the

admissions table is in front of the balcony door, there are 2 chairs,

and copies of the psych sheets to be sold.  In the cash box there should

be 50 $1 bills and a pen or a stamp to mark hands.

Matt Gilman usually brings the psych sheets to the admissions table.  If

the psych sheets are not on the table, check on the copier or desk of

Matt Gilman, both of which are located on the 3rd floor.

First session:  If the meet manager has not taped up a price list with

the admission and program prices in a visible area, you will need to

prepare a price list and tape it up.  Leave price list up for the

remaining sessions of the home meet.

Other Sessions:  If there is no price list with the admission and

programs prices taped in a visible area,  make a price list and tape on

the wall in a visible area.  Leave price list up for remaining sessions.

4. Start admissions as soon as you see people trying to enter the pool

area.  This may be as early as                                  40

minutes before warm-up.  Parents like to come early and get good seats.

Generally admissions is open until you see no more parents coming to the

meet (usually 30 minutes after the meet starts)

Parking: people can get their parking sticker stamped at the front desk,

first floor, in order to get the special parking rate at The Brittany,

1775 York Avenue (92nd/York).

5. Reimbursing other workers of the swim meet: You may reimburse meet

managers for their costs incurred in buying ice and snacks, only if they

have receipts for the amount they seek to obtain.

6.

5. Close admissions by counting the money and recording it on a sheet of

paper, cleaning the table and taking  the cash box to Paul Taylor or

Siobhan  in the Aquatics Office.   In recording the money, count the

number of $1 bills, $5 bills, $10 bills, etc.  and record a total amount

for the session less any receipted reimbursements.  Write your name and

the name of your admission partners.   Your admissions partners should

count the money after you have counted it as a double check on the

number of bills and the total amount less any amounts reimbursed with

receipts. The counting and recording of the money should be done in a

safe place,  for example, the Aquatics Office.

Enjoy the swim meet and thank you for your help.  Your help contributes

to AGUA home meets being efficient, friendly, and well attended.  Your

help also contributes to funds for the team.
